Our Church Choir
St Thomas à Becket Church Choir
The church choir has members of all ages and experience and sing in four part harmony leading the musical contribution to many of our services. A good range of music is used with traditional church music at its core. The choir is in attendance at every Sunday morning service either robed in the formal services or wearing sweatshirts in the less formal services.
In addition to Sunday services more demanding music is sung at Festival services such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas. Music by Rutter is very popular with members. We attend annual Festival services at Ely Cathedral and Kings College. We encourage the ‘Voice for Life’ programme which rewards singers with a ribbon including external exams for the bronze, silver and gold awards.
The choir also leads the worship at most weddings held during the year.
The choir is a warm and friendly group of singers who enjoy making music, leading sung worship and continue the long tradition of this Parish Church.
The choir meets every Friday in St Thomas à Becket church at 6:45pm - 8:00pm.
The choir would be very pleased to welcome new members - all ages welcome. We would particularly welcome children and men. For more information please contact the Choirmaster and organist.
